#125: Success is an Addiction

This video does a great job of explaining why getting addicted to something is the key to generating money in business.

I’ll write more of my thoughts about the above video at a later date, but the short version is I need to get addicted to something.

  1. Pat Walls was addicted to building Starter Story at the beginning and after he stopped focusing on Pigeon.
  2. Elliot Choy was addicted to growing his YouTube channel after his First Day in the Life video popped off.
  3. Ali Abdaal was addicted to building his YouTube channel while in medical school and even now.
  4. I think I was even addicted to making YouTube videos and growing my channel, especially in my first year of making videos.

The key is getting addicted to the process. I’ve never been addicted to Creator Paths and that’s a huge reason why I’m not working on it. I don’t think I’m a lazy person but I do realize that when I’m not addicted to something then it can become easy for me to develop lazy habits like watching TV and being on my phone. The thing that has been missing from my life over the past year is getting addicted to something. I think even my 30-day challenges were minor addictions and that’s why I completed them successfully.

The last video I checked out today is about financial freedom. It’s from Ali Abdaal and it’s a video I will return to. After watching this video I am reading Million Dollar Weekend by Noah Kagan. I realize I either have a knowledge or execution problem. I’m using Million Dollar Weekend to gain knowledge but also to start executing.
