#126: Album Cover Design + Asking for Feedback

When was I most excited today?

When I was designing a flyer for Quaran’s album on Canva. It was my first time trying to design something like that. It reminds me of when I would design in Figma or even design thumbnails.

What was the best decision I made today?

This is hard because I had a few good decisions. Studying for the Wayfair interview was a good decision although it could’ve helped if I prepared for it a day or two earlier. Going to Howard to get food was a good decision even though I didn’t want to go on campus. Reading Million Dollar Weekend and finally designing in Canva were also great decisions. If I had to choose one, it would be reading Million Dollar Weekend instead of continuing to watch YouTube videos on my phone. I also like how I took the extra step to attempt to design Quaran’s visual cover instead of just giving my opinion on it. It promotes a doer mentality and reminds me how fun doing is.

When was I most bored today?

The period between getting back home and reading Million Dollar Weekend. That’s when I was on my phone.

Did I do anything I feared today?

Asking for Quaran’s opinion on my flyers was something I feared. I’m not a designer and I know I only put a few hours into the Canva design but I wanted his opinion on my work so I asked.

The Big lesson I learned today

I’ve written about this before but just ask people questions. Ask for someone’s opinion on something whether it’s work I’ve produced or a problem they’re facing. Getting feedback from people is the main thing. When I have feedback I can understand where people are coming from.
